Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how earthStatir ("we", "us") handles information. earthStatir is a 24/7 live data channel about planet Earth, published as @earthStatir on YouTube, Twitch and TikTok and on this website, earthstatir.com. The channel is operated by voidnery (info@earthstatir.com).

To run the channel we use Munarie Control, a private control panel that only the channel operator can sign in to. Munarie Control connects to YouTube and Twitch on behalf of the operator's own channel. It is not offered to the public, and nobody else can sign in to it.

1. Viewers of our streams and videos

We do not collect personal information from people who watch our streams or videos.

• YouTube, Twitch and TikTok process viewer data under their own privacy policies. We have no access to it beyond the aggregated statistics that each platform shows to every channel owner (for example, total views or watch time).
• We do not run ads of our own, and we do not track viewers across websites.
• Comments and chat messages are public on the platform where you post them. They are subject to that platform's terms. We may moderate them using the platform's own tools.

2. Visitors of this website

This website is a set of static pages. It does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.

The hosting server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser user-agent) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are deleted automatically within 30 days. They are never shared or sold.

3. YouTube API Services

Munarie Control uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel to it, the authorizing user agrees to the YouTube Terms of Service. For information about how Google handles data, see the Google Privacy Policy.

What we access. We only access data about the operator's own YouTube channel, after the operator authorizes access through Google's consent screen:

• Channel information: channel ID, title and thumbnails.
• Live broadcasts and live streams: creating, scheduling, starting and ending broadcasts, and their titles and descriptions. This lets the 24/7 stream be restarted on schedule.
• Videos: uploading short clips that the operator has approved, and editing their titles and descriptions.
• Channel analytics: for example views, watch time and subscriber changes, so that the operator can see a daily summary.

How we use it. Only to operate and measure the operator's own channel. We do not use YouTube data for advertising. We do not sell it. We do not share it with anyone else. We do not show it to anyone other than the authorizing user.

Storage and retention.

• OAuth tokens: stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) on our server, only for as long as the channel stays connected.
• Analytics and other YouTube API data: kept no longer than 30 days unless refreshed from the API.
• Disconnecting: the operator can disconnect the channel in Munarie Control at any time. This revokes the token with Google immediately and deletes the stored YouTube data within 7 days.

Revoking access. Access can also be revoked at any time on the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. If access is revoked there, we delete the related stored data within 30 days.

4. Twitch

Munarie Control uses the Twitch API, under the Twitch Developer Services Agreement, for the operator's own Twitch channel only:

• reading and updating stream information (title and category);
• reading the stream key so that the operator's own streaming software can go live;
• creating and managing clips.

Tokens are stored encrypted. They are deleted when the channel is disconnected. Access can also be revoked in Twitch under Settings → Connections.

5. TikTok

At this time we publish to TikTok manually and do not connect to any TikTok API. If this changes, we will update this policy before connecting.

6. Public scientific data and AI tools

Our streams show public data from scientific agencies, for example:

• USGS;
• NOAA (SWPC and the National Hurricane Center);
• NASA (EONET and NeoWs);
• MET Norway;
• The Space Devs (Launch Library 2).

These datasets contain no personal information. We use automated tools, including AI models from None, to draft clip titles, descriptions and on-screen text from these public datasets. No personal information about viewers is sent to these tools. A person reviews every clip before it is published.

7. Children

Our content is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

8. Your rights and contact

You may ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. We will reply within 30 days. Requests related to YouTube API data are completed within 7 days.
